Before the Trip
- Bring everything you need with you. (Do not forget or lose your Night Tracker Card, or NTC) You can keep book bags on the bus while you are at Liberty.
- EHMIS: As in past, equipment can be stored in the gym storage closet in the back of the gym near playground parking lot. Please arrange for students to be dropped off in the morning as no ski equipment is allowed on the regular school bus. Dismissal will be 3:10 pm and departure will be 3:20 pm from the playground parking lot.
- SWHS: Please arrange for students to be dropped off in the morning (no ski equipment on the regular school bus) and then carry equipment down to the closet located in the 200 hallway across from room 207. We have plenty of room to store bags and ski equipment. At the end of the day, our Ski Club bus picks us up at the same rear door. See map picture.
You are dismissed at 3:00, and we meet at the rear doors by the PAC. We head over to meet EHMIS buses by 3:15.
Safety is our number 1 priority!
At least one of the advisors will be in the lodge the entire night, we require all students to check in during the night and always ski with a buddy. We also have a Ski Liberty Ski Patrol beeper so we are informed immediately of any emergency involving any group member.
An Advisor can always be found on the second floor dining area of the ski lodge, down near the fire place.
At Ski Liberty
- Do not ski or snowboard alone. Make sure you have someone you know with you! Please do not allow your friends to try and talk you into skiing/riding a trail that is above your ability level.
- Safety is of the highest importance!! Please follow Ski Libery's “Skier/Rider Responsibility Code”:
- Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
- People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
- You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.
- Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
- Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
- Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely
- It is also really important to always have good behavior/conduct throughout the resort. Treating other guests with courtesy and respect makes for a pleasant visit for everyone.
- One of the advisors will be in the lodge the entire night, and we will have a beeper for emergencies.
- Lessons begin at 4:30 and 5:45 behind the clock tower.
- Remember to bring money for lockers (about $1.00) or share a bin with friends (about $4.00 - you can get into the bin whenever you need something)
- DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING UNLOCKED…. IT MAY NOT BE THERE AT THE END OF THE NIGHT!!
- Pack food or bring A LOT of money for food at Liberty. Food is very expensive. (burger, fries, and drink will cost about $15.00)
- All Student must check in at the lodge between 6:00 – 7:00. You must come up to the advisor table to check in. Failure to do this could result in not going on the next trip. This allows us to see that you are OK and that you have someone to ski/snowboard with.
- We expect all students back on the bus by 8:03 pm so we can head home by 8:15 pm.
- PLEASE KEEP THE BUS CLEAN - ALL TRASH/FOOD MUST GET OFF THE BUS WITH YOU.
- We expect to return to school by 9:00 – 9:30 pm. Have you ride arrive in the front of school by 9:15.
All school rules apply while on the trips.
Failure to follow these rules could cause you to be removed from the club.
